iGwalagwala Guest House nestles in the unique little village of St Lucia, which is situated in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park at the mouth of the St Lucia Estuary. The shores of the balmy Indian Ocean are only  minutes walk away from our front door. The diversity and interconnected eco-systems ensure a one-stop destination for visitors looking for the most varied wildlife and outdoor experiences in the world. The iSimangaliso Wetland Park was declared South Africa's first World Heritage Site in 1999. The Park includes hundreds of  kilometers of pristine coastline, stretching from St Lucia to the Mozambique border. It also includes over 38, 000 hectares of inland  water   surfaces, numerous islands and the biggest estuary in Africa. This large variety of habitats, including the Lebombo mountains, grasslands, forests, wetlands, mangroves,  vegetated dunes, magnificent beaches and coral reefs create an environment which is a birder's dream, with over 500 species to be found in the area. Day trips into nearby  iMfalozi and Hluhluwe game reserves will guarantee  you a breathtaking view of the undulating hills and bush with the opportunity of getting up close and personal with "the big five."  See where the white Rhino was saved from extinction!  For night life we have many stars but no "clubs" or entrance fees.

Our double rooms are all en-suite and equipped with fans and/or air conditioning, hair dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. We offer the option of a light breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast or self catering facilities. We have a comfortable lounge/TV room and relaxing lawn area next to a sparkling pool with a gazebo and barbeque facilities. The Guest House has secure, access-controlled, on-site parking.  The beaches, shops and numerous restaurants are within walking distance.
